Lulu’s Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich

Let’s be honest. our roast beef can be consumed without ceremony or condiments, without cutlery or pretense & with at least one dog watching the proceeds with hopeful patience. but sometimes you need to make a sandwich. AND SOMETIMES YOU JUST WANT THAT SANDWICH TO BE OPEN-FACED. SO HERE’S WHAT I DO…

  • 1-lb pack sliced Randall Lineback Roast Beef

  • Sour Cream

  • Horseradish sauce

  • Mayonaise

  • 8-12 slices Cheese (Havarti is a favorite…) (2-3 per sandwich)

  • 4 slices bread (chef’s choice)

  • 1 large ripe tomato (aim for 1 big slice per sandwich)

Heat oven to 350-degrees

Mix sour cream, horseradish, and mayonaise in a small bowl until well-blended

Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

Lightly toast bread

Spread horseradish sauce on each piece of toast.

Pile 1-2 slices of Roast Beef on top, folding them over if necessary

Lay a large tomato slice on top and spoon over additional horseradish sauce.

Top with the remaining Roast Beef and 2-3 slices of cheese.

Place 4 open faced sandwiches on the foil-lined baking sheet and bake in oven for 15 minutes, or until cheese gets melted and bubbly.

Serve with a fork and knife, remaining horseradish sauce, and a napkin.
